Advice from our chef to make prep time quicker:

  • Plan ahead – Plan your weekly menu along with your shopping list to avoid unnecessary stress.  Try and use common ingredients in your weekly menu to cut costs down
  • Cut meat or poultry into smaller pieces or pound flat to allow it to cook quicker, this small tip will cut your cooking time in half.
  • Don’t crowd the pan – Cooking a bunch of ingredients together significantly increases your cooking time, so instead try cooking your ingredients separately and then join them together after.  It also prevents the natural juices from escaping when cooking in smaller batches
  • Buy good quality meats and poultry and trim them for the best presentations (even your family will appreciate this!). Keep the offcuts and use them in curries and baked meals to bulk the recipe.
